objectives in GE programmes of the eight UGC-funded institutions. It can be seen that the GE
programmes in CCS address most of the areas explicitly.

(2) GE structure
The structure of GE courses in AD programmes offered by major providers (CCCU, CIE, HKCC
and HKU SPACE CC) is summarized in Table 4. In general, they have two main components:
i. Language requirements and other compulsory courses (such as IT, Mathematics, etc)
ii. Elective courses that come from several domains/cluster areas
