There are around 123 credits for the 4-year degree programmes. The “cross-disciplinary
curriculum includes electives across different disciplines such as general education, humanities
and social sciences”.

HSMC
The four-year degree programme has 120 credits, including the Common Core Requirement
with 15 to 16 modules (45 to 48 credits), which includes seven GE modules (refer to Table 2 for
details).

HKSYU
There is currently no GE programme at HKSYU. Students have to take “complementary
electives”. HKSYU is introducing their GE curriculum in the 2017/18 academic year (refer to
Table 2 for details).

OUHK
The 4-year honours degree programme has a total of 160 credits, including 20 credits for four
purpose-designed GE courses, at five credits each. In addition, OUHK full-time undergraduate
students have to complete another 20 credits of non-discipline courses (which include English
language courses).

TWC
Four-year degree programmes have a total of 120 credits. As an example, the BBA (Hons) degree
programme has 18 GE credits, with six GE courses at three credits each.

VTC (THEi)
For the whole 4-year degree programme, students are required to take 132 credits. The GE
curriculum consists of two parts: core and electives (refer to Table 2 for details).
