        General Education at Self-financing Institutions
        (excluding affiliates of UGC-funded universities)

        Credit Transfer
Graduates of Associate Degree and Higher Diploma programmes may be admitted directly to
year 3 of four-year degree programmes. They may receive recognition for their sub-degree
qualification, often with block credit transfer. Generally, sub-degree graduates are granted 50%
credit when they are admitted to year 3 of four-year degree programmes.
        CIHE
Senior-year intake students to the four-year BBA degree programme are exempted from 66
        of the 132 credits.

        HSMC
AD and HD graduates are “granted a block credit transfer of 50% of the total credit units of a
programme. The transferred credit units will be counted towards the graduation requirements
but will be excluded from the calculation of the student’s Grade Point Average (GPA)”.

        OUHK
OUHK provides a detailed list of “Total Credit Value of Qualifications”, which indicates that
at most 80 credits are transferable into a 160-credit OUHK honours degree. Students have to
complete top-up courses (specified by OUHK) by study for graduation purpose. Award of “a
certain number of block credits does not indicate an automatic reduction by that amount in
the number of credits required for the completion of the OUHK programme”.

        TWC
Under normal circumstances, students are not granted a credit transfer for more than 50% of
the total 120 credits of a programme. Students admitted to the Senior Year may be required to
satisfactorily complete some bridging courses, i.e., they may be required to take more than 60
credits. The bridging courses can be Discipline courses or General Education courses offered
in the first two years of the curriculum. Different programmes have different GE requirements
in Year 3 and Year 4.
